Crepemyrtles (Lagerstroemia) CU

Crepemyrtle (Lagerstroemia) shrubs are very common in the South.  They come in various colors and there about 50 species.  I do not have one in my yard but there are many varieties in my neighborhood.  It is difficult to get a close up with the iPhone because of the shallow depth of field.  The image on the left shows the stamens whereas the image on the right shows the berries.  Slight editing in PSE as these+ were taken in bright sunlight mid afternoon. For the image on the right I decided to use the posterize edges which makes it look more like a graphic design and brings out the texture more of the back petals.which were more a blob--also applied a vignette.   For more information about crepemyrtles check out Wikipedia
